"content": "Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, I beg to move that the Parliamentary Service (Amendment) Bill (Senate Bill No.21 of 2014) be read for a Second Time. This is a very important Bill for the strengthening of this Senate. As stated in its memorandum of objects and reasons, the main purpose of this Bill is to amend the Parliamentary Service Act, Cap 185(a), which was passed in the year 2000, indeed, as Act No.10 of 2000. The Act was passed 10 years before the new Constitution came into force. The electronic version of the Senate Hansard Report is for information purposes only.
