"content": "Another issue that I want this House to look deeply into is the system of our education. We have a system that is failing us. It is failing us because we have an exam-oriented system of education. We need to move from an exam oriented system of education to a practical system of education. When our children sit for the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) or the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (KCSE) and do not pass, they are looked at as failures. However, there are people who are not book smart, but if you give them a tractor or a car to fix, they will do it very well. Because our system does not give them an opportunity from a young age to discover the talents that God has given to them, they will look at what they have done in KCPE or KCSE and feel like failures, because they did not pass these examinations. Let us go back to the system where we had art and craft, music, agriculture and engineering, so that children can learn at a young age who they are and what talents God has given them."
