"content": " Hon. Senators, pursuant to Standing Order No. 227(1), the Petition therefore stands committed to the relevant Standing Committee. In this case, it is the Standing Committee on Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries. In terms of Standing Order No.227(2), the Committee will be required to, not more than 60 days of their time of reading the prayer, to respond to the petitioner by way of a report addressed to the petitioner and laid on the Table of the Senate. The Chairman of the Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries Committee raised the issue of the Governor of Kericho and quite a number of Senators have spoken to it including Sen. (Dr.) Khalwale. Having raised the same matters in court, the petitioner claims that none of the issues raised in this Petition is pending in any court of law, constitutional or any other legal body. When you look at our Standing Order No. 223(g), it states that:- “The petitioner is required to indicate whether the issues in respect of which the Petition is made are pending in any court of law or other constitutional or legal body” The electronic version of the Senate Hansard Report is for information purposes only. A certified version of this Report can be obtained from the Hansard Editor, Senate."
