"content": "Thank you, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, for giving me a chance to support this Bill. I thank the Mover for taking his time to bring the necessary amendments to the Nursing Act. The role that nurses play in this country cannot be over-emphasized. Most of us who come from rural areas know that the dispensaries that we have at home are managed by nurses. With them around, lives are saved. It is not only that. To be a nurse is a calling. That is because unless you are prepared and your mind is set to help humanity, it is very difficult to practice as a nurse. When a person is sick and he or she is not able to talk or turn around in bed or do anything, the responsibility of taking care of him or her lies with the nurses. They take care of us when we are sick. Therefore, the new Bill will not only enable the nurses to register, but also to practice as nurses. That should not be seen as if they are competing with doctors. It is also their right to practice and earn a living just like the doctors, so long as they do not go beyond what they are supposed to do. As things stand now, it is critical that we support this Bill. At times, when someone is sick, he or she may continue to"
