    "content": "Mr. Temporary Chairman, Sir, I beg to move:- THAT, clause 24 be amended in- (a) paragraph (a) of sub-section (1), by inserting the words “who shall be the chairperson” at the end of the paragraph; and (b) sub-section (3) by deleting the words “shall appoint a chairperson from among the persons under subsection (1) above and” appearing immediately after the words “the Auditor- General”. We are suggesting that the Auditor-General shall be the Chairperson of the advisory board like it is the case in all other institutions like the Central Bank and others. I think that it is important that the Auditor-General be the Chairman of the board because the board has a significant role. In sub-section (3), the Auditor-General shall appoint a person from among the persons under section subsection (1) above and may co-opt two other members. We are deleting the words “shall appoint” a Chairperson from among the persons so that it conforms to the earlier one that we have amended."
