In fact, I hoped that the Chair would come to my defence when I said on the Floor of this House that Members and chairmen of committees should not go and prostrate themselves before Cabinet Secretaries to get statements to this House. I was not advising any Committee not to discharge its functions, but I was simply having Article 125 that Sen. Khaniri has quoted in mind. You invite them and if they do not show up, you summon. If they do not turn up, you have sanctions. Why would the distinguished young Senator who is a lawyer by profession want to look so meek in the face of the law when the law is there to defend him?"
