    "content": "The Committee had three sittings and the nominee appeared. He was vetted in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution, the Public Appointments (Parliamentary Approval) Act No.33 of 2011 and the National Assembly Standing Orders on suitability for appointments to the position of Cabinet Secretary. Hon. Speaker, I want to take this opportunity to thank all the Members of the Committee on Appointments for their input and valuable contribution during the deliberation and the vetting exercise. I also want to thank the Office of the Speaker and that of the Clerk of the National Assembly for the logistical support that they gave to the Committee. Finally, the Committee is grateful to the media for the coverage of the proceedings in enhancing accountability and transparency of the vetting exercise. Hon. Speaker, on behalf of the Committee on Appointments and pursuant to Article 124(4)(b) of the Constitution, Section 8(1) of the Public Appointments (Parliamentary Approval) Act, No.33 of 2011 and the provisions of Standing Order No.199(6), it is my pleasure and duty to present to the House the report of the Committee."
