I have been on record asking: Which of the institutions the Government that has privatised over the last two decades has taken off properly? Just yesterday, we heard what happened. Two years ago we celebrated that things at Uchumi had changed, it had been revitalized and taken over by a new management but right now I have heard from the Chairperson and other Board of Directors that Uchumi is almost being put under receivership."
