    "content": "with the Chairman of the Departmental Committee on Finance, Planning and Trade, Hon. Benjamin Langat, that there are people who served in very difficult times, even prior to 2003. This is when the multi-party system started; in 1993. I want to convince my good friend, Hon. Makali Mulu, that between 1993 and 2003, we are only adding one Speaker. There was only one Kenyan who became a Speaker during that time, namely, Hon. Francis ole Kaparo. In terms of the Vice-Presidents we have had during that time, it is the Late Hon. George Saitoti and Hon. Musalia Mudavadi. Between 2003 and 2008, we had two; namely, the Late Hon. Kijana Wamalwa and Hon. Moody Awori. It is good that we take into consideration the great service that those Kenyans have given to this country. For that reason, I support this amendment."
