    "content": "Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman for this chance. I wish to oppose this amendment. The Jubilee Administration has received a lot of accolades for the fight against corruption so far. These amendments fly in the face of all that anti-corruption fight; if we reduce the independence of the Auditor-General’s Office, then we will be tampering with one of the best mechanisms to fight corruption. Right now, the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) is current. What we will be looking at is current. If this office does not have its independence, we do not know what kind of material we will get from it. I oppose this amendment totally because it is contrary to what the Jubilee Administration is telling us about fighting corruption. This amendment does not fight corruption at all; it enhances it."
