    "content": "I want to mention something briefly about procurement. A lot of corruption occurs through procurement. I call upon the Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to follow up on the public procurement law. I am happy to note the amendments that were incorporated on the 30 per cent of tenders that are given to youths, women and the disabled. We need a report in this House to see that. Maybe the Public Procurement Oversight Authority should give us a report on that. Was it 30 per cent that was given to the youth and women or are we taking of 30 per cent just in terms of numbers but not in terms of value? The young people of this country are not in employment. Seventy per cent of the unemployed are the youth. For us to improve their welfare and to achieve Vision 2030, it is indeed important that when it comes to issues of procurement that law must be followed to the letter."
