As you are aware, under the Standing Orders, when we are on proceedings, you need to know these things so that when you claim quorum you know the consequences. When the quorum is called in the course of proceedings, the Quorum Bell can only ring for 10 minutes. If there is no quorum before the start of proceedings then it can ring for 10 minutes and the Speaker or the Chairperson has the authority to extend it for another five minutes.
