"content": "Mr. Speaker, Sir, I appreciate the frustrations that we go through when we ask for Statements. Sen. Khaniri is one of the Chairs of the various Committees. I have raised before that we do the best we can to seek these Statements from the various Ministries, in this case, the Attorney-General’s office. When the matter went to the Attorney-General’s office, he indicated that based on his assessment, the issue that was sought related more with the Ministry of Interior and Coordination of National Government and that he forwarded the matter to the Ministry. So far, as a Committee, we have tried to obtain a response but the Attorney- General says that he has not received a response from the Ministry of Interior and Coordination of National Government. We have agreed as a Committee to seek for the Statement directly from the Ministry of Interior and Coordination of National Government, so that we can avoid the Attorney-General in the middle and expedite the process. I want to register that we have had challenges especially with that particular office. We have shared those frustrations in this House. Now that we have the Senate Deputy Majority Leader, Sen. Keter, the Senator for Kericho County, who has worked in this Government, he should give an undertaking to help us get these Statements within the shortest time possible. I would urge the leadership of this House to help us in handling some of these challenges that we face with the various executive offices."
