Ojode would not want to admit it but it is in the public domain and the judgment of the public that the death of Joseph Cheptarus is connected to the theft of 2.5 tonnes of gold. However, the fundamental lesson to be learnt here, and which I think the Government is not learning is: What security will you provide to those who are handling criminal cases, particularly judicial officers, especially magistrates who do not have armed security?
