"content": "The Clerkâs Office should give us a description of the sculptor and explain what the Mace represents. I have seen some good art on it. We should know what it means so that we internalize, appreciate what the Mace represents; its symbolism, what was used to make it and how much it cost us. We should be informed about such type of things so that when we talk about history, we are fully appraised that this is the Mace that represents the stature and the power of the Senate. However, we should also fully comprehend what the Mace means and what every feature on it represents. I am happy that all the 47 counties are engraved on it. The Deputy Speaker warned me when I tried to touch it; that the Serjeant-at-Arms could pounce on me because the Opposition is perceived to be in the business of taking away Maces when we feel that the House is in a mess. However, that said and done, could we be told where and when we can have a look at it at a close range at some point?
