Obure requested for a response to a Statement regarding the death of Corporal Bernard Okindo Mageto who was allegedly found dead at his station of duty on Friday, 19th June, 2015. The hon. Member particularly sought to be informed on:- (1) the circumstances which led to his death; (2) whether the police officers carried out investigation on the incident, and if so, the outcome of the investigation; (3) why the National Police Service (NPS) was not represented at the burial ceremony of the deceased in keeping with the tradition observed by the service; (4) whether a postmortem examination was carried out, and if so, what the results were; and, (5) whether the family of the deceased could expect to receive any compensation or terminal benefits in respect of services rendered to the state, and if so, how much and when the benefits would be paid.
