    "content": "county, yet I am here asking that Kshs431 million be disbursed to the county as soon as possible and a further Kshs343 million be disbursed next month. This means that we are not working. As we go on recess, I will personally move from place to place to find out how money allocated in the previous financial year was spent. I am told that they are waiting for this money to be released so that they can move around fighting some of the office holders. Today in our meeting in the Committee on Finance, Commerce and Budget, we saw how money has been misused by purchasing unnecessary items. Some county bought 72 vehicles when they only need motorcycles, just to show how powerful some people are. These are some of the wastages that we do not want to see in this country. Some hospitals have no drugs, yet money has been allocated for the same. They have diverted that money to initiate building projects, just to enable them misappropriate funds. Lastly, the county assemblies have seemingly gone to complete slumber.They do not know their duty in the counties. I say this without fear because today county government officers from a county in Nyanza appeared before our Committee and could not even tell us what authority they had in giving every member of the county assembly Kshs50,000 every month to entertain themselves in the wards and Kshs20,000 to rent offices.
