Deputy Speaker for giving me this opportunity to contribute to this Report on the Ratification of the Three East African Protocols on Defence Matters presented by the Committee on Defence and Foreign relations. We now live in a very competitive world and it is important that we take advantage and co-operate with our neighbours in our region on matters of defence which are important to us. Through this, we can share information and work on matters that are beneficial to our communities. It is true that Kenyan Defence Forces and Kenya defence matters are very advanced compared to similar matters in the region but, as a leader in the region, it is important that we co-operate with our neighbors so that security issues can be handled together.
