    "content": "Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. We have discussed the issue of human rights in several meetings and conferences and nothing has been implemented. I thank the Member who saw the need to bring this sessional paper on the Floor of the House. I will speak on only one issue, namely the issue of the older generation. If you could allow me to read Article 57 of our Constitution, which refers to the older generation, it reads:- “The State shall take measures to ensure the rights of older persons–– ( a ) to fully participate in the affairs of society; ( b ) to pursue their personal development; ( c ) to live in dignity and respect and be free from abuse; and, ( d ) to receive reasonable care and assistance from their family and the State”."
