    "content": "Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman. Let me start by thanking the House leadership for giving the organising committee this level of honour by adjourning this House for a whole week, so that Members can participate in this 46th CPA regional conference. On my behalf, as the chairman of the organising committee, on behalf of the committee and on behalf of the Kenyan Chapter Executive Committee, I want to extend a warm welcome to all Members, and say this is an important conference for Kenya. We expect about 450 participants, and it is going to give a very good opportunity to all of us to interact with our colleagues, who are Members of Parliament in other countries, share experiences and be able to discuss a way forward in terms of how we are going to make sure democracy is promoted all over the world. At the same time, the issue of sustainable development will be achieved in our country. There are very interesting topics. The conference started today with what we call the “Commonwealth Women Conference”. Our women parliamentarians are expected to be at Safari Park because Her Excellency the First Lady of this country will be opening the forum officially. On Tuesday, His Excellency the President of this Republic will be opening the main conference. So, it is a big honour to Kenya to host such a big conference. As the chairman of the organising committee, I really feel humbled and honoured by this House for allowing Members to participate. Thank you very much, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker."
