"content": "Hon. Speaker, I also wish to make a few comments with regard to this very important matter. You will recall that at the beginning of this year, there was an uproar by teachers through their trade unions, that is Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) and Kenya Union of Post Primary Education (KUPPET), that teachers serving in northern eastern Kenya specifically in Garrisa, Wajir and Tana River counties, be allowed to be transferred to other parts of the country where they felt safer. Hon. Speaker, since then up to now, it is true that no meaningful teaching has taken place in those counties. That is not really the issue that should worry us. The most important thing as The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposesonly. A certified version of this Report can be obtained from the Hansard Editor."
