    "content": "sector and the informal sector as the sectors that support our children in school and that give us food. That is the only way to go. The annuity programme has been having a problem since we started. So far, no annuity programme has been rolled out and the Kshs3 per litre fuel levy will be helpful except that we need to amend it to Kshs1 or Kshs2 per litre because fuel prices in this country is on the higher side. Already, we are paying over Kshs100 for a litre of petrol and diesel, meaning that the multiplier effect on the economy and the cost of production will be very high in this country. Recently, when I went to Saudi for Umrah I realised how cheap life is there; the cost of living and fuel is very low. We can say that is because Saudi produces fuel, but Nigeria produces fuel too but they face constant shortages and fuel is more expensive in Nigeria than in Kenya. So, time has come for us to look at ways of improving the lives of our people. With those few remarks, I support, Hon. Deputy Speaker."
