Temporary Deputy Chairman, I beg to move:- THAT, Clause 60 of the Bill be amended in the proposed Section 123 of the Insurance Act— (a) in subsection (1)(b) by deleting the words “Section 383” appearing immediately after the words “meaning of” and substituting therefor the words “Section 384”; (b) in subsection (1)(c) by inserting the words “expectations of policy holders or potential policy holders;” immediately after the word “reasonable”. The import of the first amendment, which is (a) of Clause 60, is to realign it with the Companies Bill as a result of the changes that we made during the Committee of the whole House. The import of the second amendment is to insert the proper words which are missing at the end of the proposed Clause 123 (1)(c), which should be amended by inserting the words “expectations of policy holders or potential policy holders;”, which are missing immediately after the word “reasonable”."
