    "content": "Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairlady, this is a very neat amendment. When the Central Bank of Kenya Act was made, Parliament and the National Assembly were synonymous. We used Parliament to mean the National Assembly. Clearly, the appointment of the CBK Governor is a national Government function. Honestly, the Senate has no role in it. When we approved the appointment of the Central Bank Governor, I heard the Senate complaining that it was a function of Parliament and they should have been involved. This is a way to make this law neat so that we clearly define it as a role of the National Assembly, a national Government function, which resides in this House and not in the other House."
