Members, Standing Order No.225 (2)(b) requires that the Speaker reports to the House any petition other than those presented through a Member. I, therefore, wish to convey to the House that my office is in receipt of a petition signed by one Dennis Kithinji, allegedly on behalf of university students and graduates of Bachelors, Masters and Doctorate degrees in the field of laboratory medicine in Kenya regarding enactment of legislation to provide for registration and regulation of the practice of laboratory science. In the petition, Mr. Githinji prays that the National Assembly, through the Departmental Committee on Health, initiates the process of enacting legislation relating to registration and regulation of medical laboratory practitioners."
