Since the substantive subject matter of the Petition relates to governance and management of county governments, cities, towns and urban areas, which is the proper mandate of the Committee of Devolved Government, I direct that the Committee responsible – because petitions are supposed to be dealt by the Standing Committees – will also take into account the views of the Committee on Devolved Government. In terms of Standing Order No.227 (2) the committees will be required in not more than 60 days from the time of reading the prayer, respond to the petitioner by way of a report addressed to the petitioner and laid on the Table of the Senate. I thank you."
