    "content": "Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I beg to move that the Statute Law (Miscellaneous Amendments) Bill (Senate Bill No.6 of 2014) be now read the Second Time. Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, this Bill was considered by the Departmental Committee on Justice and Legal Affairs, pursuant to the provisions of Standing Order No. 199(6). The Bill originated from the Senate and it was sponsored by Senator Amos Wako. Upon being passed on 7th August 2014, it was referred to the National Assembly for further scrutiny in line with Article 110 of the Constitution. After the First Reading of the Bill, it was committed to the Departmental Committee on Justice and Legal Affairs. The Committee received the Bill on 20th August 2014, and considered whether to hold public participation on the Bill. Since the Senate had already done public participation, the Committee did not find it necessary to repeat the exercise. The Committee considered the Bill on 20th March 2015 in Committee Room 9. The report was considered by the Committee on the 24th March. The Adoption of the report was proposed by Hon. T. J. Kajwang’ and seconded by Hon. Priscilla Nyokabi. There were no dissenting voices to the adoption of the report. The minutes of the Committee sitting are attached to this report.
