Temporary Deputy Chairman, I beg to move:- THAT, Clause 29 of the Bill be amended by deleting sub-clause (2) and substituting therefor the following new sub-clause— “(2) Nothing in this Act shall be deemed to prevent any member of the community from using, subject to such conditions as may be prescribed under this Act, such fisheries or fisheries resources as it has been the custom of that community to use.” Our intention is to promote customary fishing and let it continue so that it is not interfered with or hampered by commercial fishing."
