Temporary Deputy Chairman, I beg to move:- THAT, Clause 22 of the Bill be amended by deleting sub-clause (2) and substituting therefor the following new sub-clause (2)- “(2) without prejudice to the generality of subsection (1), the regulations may- (a) prescribe the manner in which the Society may facilitate professional counseling of former Members of Parliament; (b) prescribe the manner in which the Society may facilitate public participation and lobbying of interest groups on matters of general public concern; (c) prescribe the manner in which the Society may develop and manage any project or enterprise whose object is to make former Members of Parliament capable of self-support; (d) prescribe the manner in which the Society may facilitate re- employment or re-retraining of former Members of Parliament; and (e) any other matter required under the Constitution, this Act or any other written law”. Again, this seeks to create enabling provisions for the Society’s regulations. Therefore, I propose the deletion of subclause (2) and replacement with what is proposed."
