"content": "Mr. Speaker, Sir, I rise under Standing Order No.45(2)(a) which provides that a Senator may make a brief statement on a matter of general topic. Corruption in this country is a major concern, not only to the leadership, but the entire country. Therefore, it comes as great news for the world to learn that in Senegal, President Macky Sall has upon receiving directions from the Judiciary, allowed that auctioning of properties belonging to Karim Wade, the son of the former President of Senegal, which include luxury cars, hotels, jewels held in banks and the family home in the City of Dakar. This, the son of the former President has been committed to jail for six years."
