It is the relationship between a detainee in a police cell and the police which is most inhuman. These people should realize that while you are detained in a police cell, you have not been accused of anything. Being treated worse than a prisoner is unfair. Let me move on to my experience in Nyayo House because it is becoming history. In 1981, my dear friend Sen. G.G. Kariuki who was then Minister for Internal Security had my papers on his desk to be detained but I escaped to Mexico and he never detained me. When I came back, as we were starting the struggle for the second Independence - by the way this is something that Sen. G.G.
