    "content": "Mr. Speaker, Sir, we have not yet identified the particular source of this pesticide. However, we have already talked to the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA), that is, the agency mandated to enforce the Environmental Management and Co-ordination Act. First of all, we need to give information to the people living along this particular river so that they become aware that they are not supposed to dump any pesticides in the river. Secondly, we have requested NEMA to come up with a programme that will ensure that there is a good monitoring and evaluation of the environmental systems within and around the banks of River Mara to avoid this kind of a situation recurring."
