    "content": "THAT, Clause 34 of the Bill be deleted. I seek the deletion of this clause because Article 34(2) of the Constitution provides for freedom of the media and their right not to be penalised for any opinion or view or the content of any broadcast, publication or dissemination. To the extent that this provision seeks to penalise the media, it is inconsistent with the Constitution. It is a good day for me. If you remember that Wednesday morning, it was the first time in my life that I could not convince the members I command. Hon. Gumbo, Hon. Keynan and many other Members disagreed with me. The only interest I had was to say that the provision of Clause 34 of the Bill is in violation of the Constitution. I thank the Members of the National Assembly and the Speaker because we did something wrong but we remembered that we can make a correction. That is why the framers of the Standing Orders thought that the element of recommittal is so important. Members do not know how important recommittal is.
