    "content": "Hon. Deputy Speaker, I appreciate the concerns of Members of Parliament. This issue was deliberated on by the PSC. I can confirm that the officers that you have seen in uniform are employees of the PSC. Hon. Members have severally complained that they have encountered people who are not in uniform stopping them from accessing Parliament. It became very difficult for the staff to identify themselves. Eventually, the Commission decided that the officers should be in uniform; they are the security officers of Parliament. Because of what is happening outside, I want to plead with you to bear with them. It is the Members who raised an issue about uniform. Somebody stops you and you do not know whether he is an officer of Parliament or not. Eventually, the Commission made a decision that all security officers who are employees of Parliament must be in uniform. In addition, we also have the uniformed security officers. Because of the circumstances, I urge you to bear with them. Those officers are not from the NYS; they are employees of the PSC. Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker."
