The proposed amendment is supposed to create cohesion in Government structure and in the governance of the Auditor-General’s Office and to ensure that it is properly staffed. In doing so – as we make the amendment that is necessary and crucial –the President should ensure that the Auditor-General’s Office remains independent with the support of the Public Service Commission."
