(Dr.) Khalwale requested for a statement from the Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Roads and Transportation, regarding the status of Kakamega-Kaburengu-Webuye Road. The questions were as follows: 1. When the construction works officially started and when the project was supposed to be completed. 2. What percentage of works has been completed to date and how much money the contactor has been paid, so far. 3. What the original budgeted cost of the project was and the reason for the delay in completion and indicate when the project will be completed. I beg to reply as follows: The project commenced on 1st April, 2013 and was set for completion on 31st March, 2015."
