"content": "such proceeding is heard, commits an offence. (2) A police officer may, by order of Court, take into custody and detain a person who commits an offence under subsection (1) until the court adjourns. (3) A person who commits an offence under subsection (1) shall, on conviction, be liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding five days, or to a fine not exceeding Ksh100,000 or both. (4) In exercise of its powers under this section, the Court shall observe the principles of fair administration of justice set out in Article 47 of the Constitution. The other regimes of contempt are treated under Section 5 of the Judicature Act, Order 52 of the Supreme Court Practice Rules. So, we are limiting this to contempt in the face of the court like where you abuse or assault a judge and others in the course of proceedings. Those other areas of contempt are already catered for in those separate laws. So, we have only made this complete deletion and substitution to make it neater."
