"content": "Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, women issues are not just for the women but family issues. Men are part of the family and the children are the family. Women issues are national issues and they are recognized as such. Women rights are human rights and the United Nations (UN) also recognizes that. We are members and signatories of the UN. I, therefore, urge Kenyans to change our mentality. I would have loved to see more men in this House because this Motion is so important and the cradle of development of our country. As long as we keep on leaving our women behind, this nation will lag behind for a long time. Imagine where we would be today. Kenya is said to have developed and is the leading developed country economically in the region. We should have been ranked as a Second World by now and not in the Third World had Kenyan women got the facilities that they need to contribute fully.
