    "content": "I would like to thank the Departmental Committee on Education, Research and Technology for taking time to look at this Act and making the necessary amendments. It has been confirmed through studies that provision of education to the citizenry provides the shortest exit from poverty. Any country which takes education seriously is likely to reduce the levels of poverty among its citizenry. In my view, this is the right direction. The amendments are timely, even though they have taken a bit of time before being brought to this House.
