Having said that, I would like to support three things:- First, the view that institutions are bigger than the individuals who occupy those positions in them; Secondly, I am of the view that there is a reason why the Constitution anticipated an extension. In my estimation, the reason the Constitution estimated the extension of the CIC mandate is because it was felt that five years may not be adequate to complete their task. Thirdly and finally, the tradition of this House and indeed, Parliaments all over the world is to respect deliberations, products and reports of its Committees. These are the experts. They sat down, deliberated, looked at the whole picture and all the circumstances around this issue. For that reason the report of the Standing Committee on Legal Affairs and Human Rights must not only be respected but must also be supported. Mr. Temporary Speaker, with those remarks, I beg to support."
