On this very important Statement, allow me to request further that the chairperson also tells the country, in this printing of the currency, what type of contract is being used? This is because the last Parliament was approached by the Government requesting that Parliament gives its concurrence so as to allow the Government go into a joint venture of printing currency with De La Rue of Great Britain. This was occasioned after a scandal of Kshs1.8 billion was discovered. Could he tell us under what arrangement currency is now being printed? Is there a joint venture? Does Kenya own shares in De La Rue these days?"
