The other principle of public finance stipulates that the burdens and benefits of the use of resources and public borrowing shall be shared equitably between present and future generations. We are being unfairly burdened in this generation through loans that were given to KenRen Chemicals and Fertilizer Company Limited which was supposed to be located in Mombasa, somewhere in Tudor near our old neighborhood when we were growing up. I can confirm that there is no such factory in that place. I do not think there is any hope and yet, in the time that the loan was contracted when we were little boys until today, we are still carrying the burden of paying for a product that does not exist."
