Speaker, on the issue of tourism, the BPS 2016 indicates that the Government’s focus will be on improvement of security, tourism promotion, marketing and continued investment in conference tourism facilities in Nairobi, Coast and Western Kenya. The Committee also observed that part of the reason why the tourism industry has deteriorated in the recent past is due to insecurity, travel advisories, poaching, inadequate utilities and infrastructure. However, the funding for improvement of tourism facilities and infrastructure is low."
