Temporary Deputy Chairman, I beg to move:- THAT, Clause 54 of the Bill be amended in sub-clause (4) by deleting the words “principles of fair administrative action set out in Article 47 of the Constitution” appearing immediately after the words “by the” and substituting therefor the words “Fair Administrative Action Act, 2015”. This is largely to align this Bill to the Fair Administrative Action Act of 2015, which was enacted by the House to codify the right to fair administrative action in Article 47 of the Constitution. Sometimes there is a very close nexus between legal aid and the need for administration services. Sometimes the problems that arise require poor people to be assisted in the administration sections. The Fair Administrative Action Act covers those particular matters. We urge the House to agree with the Committee on the amendments proposed."
