Our economy has suffered a lot from sabotage and bottle necks in accessing electricity in terms of cost of power and the erratic manner in which power is supplied. Businesses are moving out of our country to where power is cheaper and is easier to connect for purposes of carrying out their business. This law, when passed, will enable us to finally have private players who are profit and efficiency oriented to be in the sector of supplying consumers with power in this country. By intent of the Fourth Schedule of the Constitution, I had imagined by now that each and every county would be having its mini Kenya Power to do reticulation of power in their counties.
