"content": "Hon. Speaker, I have been on intervention for a while. First of all, thank you for recognising these young people who are present today. As a Member representing the youth, I want to welcome them to Bunge and tell them that the young people of this country are, indeed, the trustees of Kenya’s posterity. As I walked into the Chamber, I heard an old relic that reminded me of the colonial days. One of the orderlies shouted “hats off strangers”. Of course, that comes from Westminister traditions where people used to wear hats throughout the day. It is so misplaced to shout “hats off strangers.” First of all, no one is wearing a hat anymore and probably the person shouting that does not even know what it means. I really wanted your opinion on this. Do you not think we need to move with the times? We are in 2016. If we do not, these young people will still be shouting “hats of strangers” when they are in Parliament."
