    "content": "Mr. Speaker, Sir, the issue of ECDE is so important and I am happy it has been brought to the Senate. ECDE is the foundation of education. This is the time when children are so impressionable that if they are not interested in education because the facilities are not good or that they are not getting good teaching, they lose interest in education for the rest of their lives. We appreciate those counties which have taken ECDE very seriously. My view is that since ECDE is important, that is where the child should commence being taught the values of nationalism, the national anthem, the importance of a nation and so on. This is to enable them appreciate what it means to be a citizen of this great country."
