    "content": "Mr. Speaker, Sir, I rise pursuant to Standing Order No. 45(2)(b) to seek a statement from the Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Roads and Transportation regarding boat safety in the Kenyan lakes. In the statement, the Chairperson should address the following:- (a) State the number of boat accidents that have occurred in the Kenyan lakes in the past two years and the number of casualties per lake. (b) Explain whether the Government has put in place safety regulations for life jacket usage, boat capacity and lighting of boats and whether the regulations are adhered to; and, (c) Explain the measures the Government has put in place, if any, to curb boat accidents."
