    "content": "(Sen. (Prof.) Kindiki): Madam Temporary Speaker, I beg to support this Motion in an amended form. This is an important Motion because it formalizes the reconstitution of a very critical Committee. I take this opportunity on the Floor of the House to thank the Members of this Committee for doing a good job last year. It is one of the most active Committees of this House. The importance of this Committee cannot be over emphasized. As we enter the homestretch of the first phase of the devolved system of governance, it is increasingly becoming clear that our counties are doing a good job, but it will require a very strong oversight function of this House through this Committee. It is hoped that issues of corruption and abuse of public resources that we have heard and seen in the counties will be a thing of the past. I would like to propose a slight amendment."
