The reason why Kenyans spent too much energy, effort, sweat, blood and limb to give themselves a new constitutional dispensation was to deal with the vexatious troubled issue of land. Right at the heart of both the clamour for a new Constitution and in the process of piecing this new Constitution, I had the privilege to co-Chair the Committee of this House that presided over the political deal for this Constitution. Land was right at the heart of those negotiations.
